Hi Hanif, I love to hear about your college days. Despite being born in 1972, I’m free and easy with my patchouli and incense, and perhaps born in the wrong decade, or maybe I was there in a different incarnation- who knows? I wasn’t brave enough to focus solely on my writing during my own college days so taught PrimarySchool kids for twenty years while writing and self publishing dark children’s novels. My writing is my focus now as I’ve been medically retired so I’ve started a Writing MA to work on short stories and a novel moving away from YA and children’s novels and attempting writing for my own age (possibly- we’ll see which F they suggest for me).

So good to hear from you as always,

Much love,

Kate x

I enjoyed this . We are a similar age , O levels in 1972 for me. Loved my patchouli oil and cheesecloth clothes. My creative son is doing the soul destroying gcses soon and like you will be happy to leave school. A lot of resonances then ..including living close to Hayes for the last 7 years . Is Ravendbourne school of art now ravensbourne school I wonder. Bromley high St no longer has a Wimpy but Beckenham does. Miles...music to make love to. Happy days.

If I ever knew that you were at Lancaster I definitely forgot it. I was there from 1979 to 1982. I was envious of friends at more exciting cities.
